Taipei Cycle ends with fruitful results

Attracting a number of 948 overseas and domestic exhibitors from 36 countries, the 24th Taipei Cycle came to an end yesterday with a satisfying growth of 6% in exhibitors and 1.4% in booths, said TAITRA, the chief organizer of the annual event.

Affected by the 9.0 earthquake rocking Japan, overseas buyers, which was expected to surpass 6,400, stands at 5,701, still a growth of 10.5% compared with that of last year, noted TAITRA.

According to statistics released by TAITRA, China has took over Japan as the country of most buyers, accounting for 16% of all, while Japan and Germany both see a decline of 25%.

Tony Lo, director-general of the Taiwan Bicycle Exporters’ Association, noted that as the Asian countries have been emerging as the most important market for cycling products, Taiwan Cycle is expected to see a growth of influence in the industry.

Next year’s Taipei Cycle is open to register starting Jun. 28.
