SKorea agrees on volcano talks with NKorea

South Korea has accepted North Korea's proposal to hold talks on conducting joint research on volcanic activity at the North's highest mountain.
North Korea offered last week to meet and discuss joint studies, field surveys and academic forums on volcanic activities at Mount Paektu.
South Korea's Unification Ministry said in a statement Tuesday that it has agreed on the need to cooperate on the matters of volcanic activities on the mountain.
It said South Korea proposed that experts of the two Koreas meet and discuss the issue at the South Korean border village of Munsan on March 29.
The move comes as inter-Korean ties remain soured following North Korea's shelling of a South Korean island in November that killed four people.
