Nagoya earns draw in J-League opener

Australia striker Josh Kennedy scored a penalty in injury time to give champions Nagoya Grampus a 1-1 draw on the opening day of the J-League on Saturday.
Shingo Hyodo gave Yokohama a 1-0 lead in the 63rd minute with a left-footed strike from the edge of the box, but Kennedy converted in five minutes into stoppage time after Yuzo Kurihara brought down Kensuke Nagai.
Nagoya ended Kashima Antlers' run of three successive titles with their first J-League title last season.
Elsewhere, Brazilian Adriano and Japan international Yasuhito Endo scored second half goals to lead Gamba Osaka to a 2-1 win over crosstown rivals Cerezo Osaka. Midfielder Shu Kurata scored the lone goal for Cerezo.
Jubilo Iwata defeated Ventforet Kofu 1-0 on a late strike by Kosuke Yamamoto.
