Australia pace bowler Doug Bollinger has been ruled out of the World Cup because of a left ankle injury.
The 29-year-old Bollinger did not play in the opening win over Zimbabwe or second match against New Zealand and is set to return home for treatment because of what team physiotherapist Alex Kountouris says is "increasing left ankle pain."
Kountouris adds that "the pain is now significantly affecting his ability to bowl."
Cricket Australia said in a statement that selectors had yet to decide on a replacement, which must be approved by the International Cricket Council's technical committee.
