European champion Inter Milan has loaned Ghana midfielder Sulley Muntari to English side Sunderland for the rest of the season.
Muntari joins international teammates Asamoah Gyan and John Mensah at Sunderland and should make his debut for the Premier League side at Stoke next weekend.
Sunderland manager Steve Bruce says Muntari is a "fabulous acquisition" for the club, which is sixth in the standings _ four points behind fourth-place Chelsea.
Bruce said Saturday "if you'd said to me six months ago that we'd be looking at Sulley Muntari, who had just won the Champions League, I'd have said 'not a chance.'"
Muntari, who has played in England for Portsmouth, joined Inter in 2008 but struggled for first-team chances this season.
