Japan, Australia tied at 0-0 after 90 minutes

Japan and Australia went into extra time in their Asian Cup final Saturday when they failed to score in regulation 90 minutes.
Both teams had their chances, with Australia creating more opportunities in the first half and Japan coming closer in the second.
Defender Yuto Nagatomo crossed for Shinji Okazaki to barely miss the target with a header in the 67th. But Australia could have scored too when Harry Kewell raced through to be one-on-one with Japan goalkeeper Eiji Kawashima, who saved the striker's shot with his leg.
Kawashima dived in the 87th to nip the ball away from the advancing Kewell as Australia pressed for a late winner.
