Osborne-Paradis taken to hospital after crash

Canadian skier Manuel Osborne-Paradis has been taken to a hospital after crashing heavily during a World Cup downhill in the French Alps.
Osborne-Paradis lost his balance after one of his skis got caught on the Verte Course and he flew into the safety net.
The 26-year-old Osborne-Paradis' condition was not immediately known. He was attached to a sled and airlifted by helicopter from the slope.
The World Cup has been marred by serious crashes this month. Mario Scheiber broke his right shoulder blade and fractured his sinuses during training this week, while Hans Grugger of Austria needed emergency brain surgery after crashing in Kitzbuehel last week and is still hospitalized.
