Former Austrian finance minister pays back taxes

Former Austrian finance minister Karl-Heinz Grasser says he's paid about (EURO)20,000 ($27,450) in taxes on income he failed to report.
Grasser told public radio Oe1 in comments aired Friday that he realized only recently that he hadn't fully disclosed all his capital gains and immediately alerted authorities to settle his bill. He says it's "clearly his fault" and that he's sorry.
The matter was first made public Thursday by the magazine Format.
The respected newspaper "Die Presse" ran a front page story Friday headlined "A Finance Minister as Tax Evader."
Grasser was in office between 2000 and 2007.
