Finnish pol charged with taking $69,000 in bribes

The Finnish deputy prosecutor general says he is charging a lawmaker and former foreign minister with taking bribes of more than $69,000 ((EURO)50,000) from businessmen.
Jorma Kalske says 63-year-old Ilkka Kanerva is suspected of a "serious breach" in accepting bribes from four executives whose companies owned or planned shopping malls in Kanerva's constituency in southwestern Finland.
Kanerva says "his conscience is completely clear" and that he has not been involved in granting planning permission for such malls.
Kanerva's National Coalition Party in 2008 forced him to resign as foreign minister after he sent dozens of suggestive text messages on his office mobile phone to a topless dancer.
