Knicks contain James, beat Heat 93-88

Danilo Gallinari and Landry Fields made consecutive 3-pointers in the final 1:18 to lead the New York Knicks over the Miami Heat 93-88 in the NBA on Thursday.
Amare Stoudemire scored 24 points, Gallinari finished with 20 points and Fields added 19 points and 13 rebounds to help the Knicks win their second straight after a six-game losing streak.
Dwyane Wade had 34 points and 16 rebounds, but missed all seven shots in the fourth quarter after he was 14 of 15 through three. LeBron James finished with 24 points, but was just 7 of 24 from the floor.
The Heat, playing without Chris Bosh because of a sprained left ankle, lost for the fifth time in six games. They managed only 15 points in the fourth quarter as their seven-game winning streak against the Knicks was broken.
Mavericks 111, Rockets 106
In Dallas, Tyson Chandler matched his season high with 21 points as Dallas hung on after wasting most of a 25-point lead to beat Houston.
J.J. Barea scored 19 points, Dirk Nowitzki added 18 and Jason Terry had 15 for the Mavericks, who have won four of five following a six-game losing streak.
Luis Scola led Houston with 30 points, and Kevin Martin had 27.
The Mavericks were in front at halftime, 64-47, but Houston went on a 26-6 run to cut the deficit to 77-75 with 4:06 left in the third quarter.
Houston then pulled to 104-103 with 51.8 seconds left when Scola completed a 12-2 run with a tip-in, but Barea hit a 13-footer with 32.9 seconds to go and Terry made two free throws to seal the victory.
