Macedonia: TV airs from street to protest probe

Macedonia's main private TV station is broadcasting news bulletins from the streets to protest the court-ordered freezing of its bank accounts under a tax fraud probe.
A1 TV news anchor Goran Petreski read the evening bulletin standing outside the main government building in the capital Skopje on Thursday, surrounded by around 50 station workers.
A1, which is critical of Macedonia's government, accuses authorities of exerting political pressure to close it down.
A1 owner Velija Ramkovski and 16 executives from his companies _ which include three newspapers _ have been in detention since their arrest in December. They have been charged with alleged tax fraud of (EURO)4.1 million ($5.6 million).
It was not immediately clear how long the street broadcasts would continue.
