Son: Mom knew risks of missionary work in Mexico

The son of a slain American missionary says his mother knew the risks of Mexico's escalating violence and that his parents had been chased by gunmen before.
Joseph Davis said Thursday "it would be easier" to count the number of times that Nancy and Sam Davis weren't targeted during trips to Mexico in recent years. The couple has been doing missionary work there since the 1970s.
Nancy Davis was shot in the head and pronounced dead Wednesday at a McAllen, Texas, hospital. Authorities say her husband frantically drove back to the U.S. to try to get her help.
Joseph Davis says his mother often sent him text messages to let him know when she and his father had safely crossed back into the U.S.
