Nigeria: Police arrest suspected sect financier

Police say they have arrested a man suspected to be a leader of a radical Muslim sect responsible for dozens of recent killings in northern Nigeria along with 91 others.
The Borno State police chief told The Associated Press Friday that they had arrested Bunu Wasili, a 65-year-old businessman believed to be a founding member and financier of a radical Muslim sect known as Boko Haram on Thursday.
Mohammed Abubakar said the arrest was "a big catch" because they can get more information from Wasili if he talks.
He said that the police have also arrested 91 suspected sect members.
Boko Haram was thought to be vanquished in 2009 after Nigeria's military crushed its mosque and its leader died in police custody. But now, a year later, members have stepped up their attacks.
