Marcus Hellner of Sweden and Poland's Justyna Kowalczyk won Friday's opening prologue races of the cross-country World Cup's fifth annual Tour de Ski.
Hellner used a strong second half of the 3.75-kilometer freestyle race to finish in 7 minutes, 34.5 seconds for his second World Cup victory of the season. Alexey Petukhov of Russia was second, 2 seconds behind Hellner, while Petter Northug of Norway was 2.9 seconds back in third.
Earlier, Kowalczyk won the women's 2.5K race in 6:39.0, ahead of Charlotte Kalla of Sweden and Astrid Uhrenholdt Jacobsen of Norway.
The Tour features eight races in 10 days at five different venues. Norwegian triple Olympic champion Marit Bjoergen is skipping the women's event to focus on the world championships in February.
