Suspected Bosnian war criminal detained in Sweden

Swedish authorities have ordered a Bosnian man to be detained on suspicion of committing war crimes in the Balkans in the early 1990s.
Swedish prosecutors have not released details of the allegations against Zemir Kovacevic. According to witness reports submitted to The Hague tribunal, he is suspected of killing civilian Serbs in the village of Sijekovac in 1992.
Kovacevic's lawyer Andreas Victor says he denies the war crimes allegations.
Victor said Friday that Kovacevic has been wanted by Interpol since 2009 when a detention order was issued against him in Bosnia. He was arrested in northern Sweden earlier this week after living in the Scandinavian country since 2008.
The Ostersund district court ordered his detention on Thursday.
