Tunisian minister is fired after unrest

Tunisia's president has fired the country's communications minister after protests over unemployment that spread to several towns and led to at least two deaths.
President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali replaced Oussama Romdhani in Wednesday's government reshuffle. The president has claimed the unrest was manipulated by foreign media and hurt the country's image. Tunisia is a popular destination for European tourists.
The leading opposition party PDP had called for the ouster of the communications minister and the interior minister, after police opened fire on demonstrators and detained opposition figures. The president did not fire the interior minister.
The protests began in the central town of Sidi Bouzid after a young man tried to set himself on fire.
