Sehwag out of India's ODI series vs. South Africa

India opener Virender Sehwag has been ruled out of the one-day international series against South Africa because of a shoulder injury but is expected to play in the third and final test against the same opponent.
The Indian cricket board said Thursday in a statement that the big-hitting batsman had been "advised to withdraw from the ODI series against South Africa to tend to his shoulder."
Middle-order batsman Rohit Sharma will replace him, while test opener Murali Vijay will stay in South Africa for the ODI series as the 17th member of the squad.
The five-match series starts Jan. 12 and will be India's last before the World Cup begins Feb. 19.
The final test starts in Cape Town on Sunday.
