Bosnian Serbs get new regional government

The parliament of the Serb region of Bosnia has approved a new government led by a former finance minister.
Aleksandar Dzombic is taking over Wednesday from popular leader Milorad Dodik.
Bosnia was carved up during the 1992-95 into two semi-autonomous ethnic regions _ one for the Serbs and the other shared by Croats and Bosnian Muslims. Each region has its own parliament and government and the two are linked into a country by a central government and parliament.
The common state institutions often appear weaker than the regional governments because Bosnian Serbs are trying to be as independent as possible and Dzombic announced he will follow that goal.
