President Barack Obama headed to the beach to snorkel with friends and family at Hanauma Bay, a favorite destination for the first family during their Hawaiian vacations.
The president's motorcade arrived at the nature preserve late Tuesday morning. The area is closed to the public on Tuesdays, giving the president's party a chance to enjoy the bay in private.
The Obamas spent time at Hanauma Bay last Christmas. The area is popular with snorkelers and is known for its coral reef.
The president earlier in the day made his daily trip to the gym at Marine Corps Base Hawaii, and later played golf Mid Pacific Country Club in Kailua.
