Military: UK soldier killed by bomb in Afghanistan

A British soldier has been killed while trying to clear a road in Afghanistan's Helmand Province.
The Defense Ministry says the solider from 23 Pioneer Regiment, Royal Logistic Corps was participating in an operation aimed at securing an area near Lashkar Gah on Tuesday when a makeshift bomb was set off, killing him.
The military says his family has been informed, but hasn't released the soldier's name.
The ministry says the death brings to 348 the number of British military personnel killed in Afghanistan since the conflict there began in 2001.
