Horse euthanized, rider injured at Asian Games

The death of a horse and injury to its rider has marred the modern pentathlon competition at the Asian Games.
Kazakhstan's Galina Golgushina was taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment on injuries sustained when her horse, D252, crashed at a jump on Tuesday during the show-jumping section of the five-discipline event.
Organizers said Golgushina was in a stable condition. The horse broke its neck and was later euthanized.
Mihao Yihau of China won the women's individual gold medal and China the women's team gold in the competition which includes pistol shooting, epee fencing, 200-meter freestyle swimming, a 3-kilometer cross-country run and show jumping.
