Rolls-Royce shares fall after A380 emergency

Shares in Rolls-Royce PLC have fallen in London after an engine manufactured by the company blew out on a Qantas Airways-operated Airbus A380 superjumbo jet.
Stock in London-based Rolls-Royce was 4.5 percent lower at 625 pence ($10.16) in midday trade on the London Stock Exchange.
Qantas Chief Executive Alan Joyce has appeared to blame the engine for the midair incident Thursday on the Singapore to Sydney flight QF34. The plane with more than 450 people on board was forced to make an emergency landing at Singapore, trailing smoke from a blackened engine.
Qantas has grounded its A380 fleet.
Rolls-Royce, which manufacturers engines for the aircraft that debuted in 2007, said it was aware of the situation, noting that the investigation was still at an early stage.
