A passenger on the Qantas flight that made an emergency landing says she heard two bangs and saw yellow flames from her window.
Rosemary Hegardy, 60, of Sydney, told The Associated Press that she was flying the Airbus A380 for the first time when the jetliner suffered engine trouble Thursday.
Qantas says the airliner safely made an emergency landing in Singapore with 459 people aboard, after one of its four engines failed over western Indonesia
Hegardy, who was sitting by the window, says "there was flames _ yellow flames came out, and debris came off ... You could see black things shooting through the smoke, like bits of debris."
It is the first detailed witness account from a passenger on the plane.
