Drysdale reaches final at world championships

Four-time world champion Mahe Drysdale of New Zealand overcame a yellow card and a false start Wednesday to reach the final of the men's single scull at the rowing world championships on Lake Karapiro.
Drysdale received a yellow card _ the equivalent of an official warning _ when he arrived at the start without official country and regatta stickers attached to his boat as championships rules demand.
He then called a false start to his semifinal shortly after it had begun, raising his arm to indicate a technical problem, when one of the stickers came loose.
Drysdale went on to win the semifinal in 7 minutes, 12.74 seconds, more than two seconds clear of Czech rival Ondrej Synek.
