Jimmy McMillan, gubernatorial candidate for the Rent is Too Damn High party, says he can't quit now.
The 63-year-old McMillan became a sensation after a debate in which he repeated his point about New York's price of living: "The rent is too. Damn. High."
He said Wednesday he got so much support _ almost 40,000 votes Tuesday in the race won by Democrat Andrew Cuomo _ he has to keep going.
McMillan is a perennial fringe candidate who has run for governor, Senate and mayor. He has blamed rent prices in part on Jewish landlords and has given conflicting stories on how much he pays.
He says the mayoral race remains a possibility. He says he's been encouraged to run for president but won't because he likes President Barack Obama.
