Guyana truck driver charged with causing 12 deaths

A truck driver in the South American country of Guyana has been charged in a traffic accident that killed 12 people.
Police say Chetram Moonsammy was driving on Oct. 29 when a tire blew out, he lost control and hit a minibus packed with passengers near the border with Suriname.
The 34-year-old was charged with causing death by dangerous driving and could face up to 15 years in prison. He was not required to enter a plea on Tuesday, but attorney Mursalene Bacchus says his client is not guilty.
