Injury worries for Atletico ahead of Rosenborg

Atletico Madrid travels to Norway for a Europa League match against Rosenborg on Thursday with some key injury concerns.
Striker Diego Forlan will join the Atletico team in Trondheim despite spraining his ankle in a practice session on Tuesday, but Jose Antonio Reyes will miss the match with a leg muscle injury picked up in Sunday's disappointing 1-1 draw with Almeria.
"We didn't win and that leaves a bad taste in the mouth," Atletico defender Alvaro Dominguez said. "So now we have to win, and that's it. A good Europa League campaign this season is a priority."
Reyes joins defender Diego Godin on the injured list ahead of the match against Rosenborg, which recently secured its 22nd Norwegian league championship.
On a positive note, Atletico fullback Juan Valera has recovered from a leg injury and is available for selection.
Last season's Europa league champions beat Rosenborg 3-0 in Madrid in October, with Sergio Aguero scoring one goal and setting up another. The Argentine has been in good form since returning from injury, scoring four goals in as many games.
The same cannot be said for Forlan, who has now gone 10 games in all competitions without scoring. It's a stretch of 700 minutes, his worst streak for more than two years.
"Forlan's scoring ways will return," Aguero said. "He's a key player for us. When he won the Golden Ball (in 2008) he also started poorly and he went on to win it."
Atletico has four points from its first three games and is third in Group B behind Aris and leader Bayer Leverkusen, which has five points. Rosenborg is last with three points.
The Spanish team is currently sixth in the Spanish league, nine points adrift of Real Madrid, which it plays on Sunday.
"It's a good team," Rosenborg coach Nils Arne Eggen said of Atletico. "So we must think about strong defense. But the starting point for a strong defense is that we cause them problems by being offensive."
Rosenborg is expected to field the same lineup as in the loss in Madrid, though striker Rade Prica may swap positions with left-winger Steffen Iversen.
"I think the game will be a bit different than it was in Madrid. We will be attacking more at Lerkendal," Rosenborg goalkeeper Daniel Orlund said. "But it could be that things get busy for me. They have some very good attackers."
