Ukrainian cyclist to testify in doping probe

A lawyer for Ukrainian cyclist Yaroslav Popovych, a former teammate of Lance Armstrong, has been subpoenaed to testify before a U.S. grand jury that is looking into doping in the sport.
Lawyer Ken Miller says his client will appear before the federal panel Wednesday in Los Angeles, but declined to give further details. The Los Angeles Times first reported that Popovych was expected to testify.
Federal prosecutors have called several of Armstrong's associates in recent weeks, including exercise physiologist Allan Lim and Stephanie McIlvain, a longtime friend of the seven-time Tour de France winner.
Authorities have declined to comment on the investigation. Grand juries meet in closed session and testimony is sealed.
Armstrong has repeatedly denied allegations he took performance-enhancing drugs.
