An Israeli airport official says screening procedures at airports around the world are inadequate.
Nahum Liss of the Israeli Airports Authority called Israel's heavily fortified international airport the best protected in the world. Israeli procedures are often copied elsewhere.
His comments Tuesday came as authorities were investigating cargo bombs intercepted at airports in Britain and Dubai.
Liss said security procedures at Israel's Airport "are built in order to confront these kind of threats."
He gave about 50 top international airport security officials a rare glimpse into Israeli measures, including baggage inspection.
The visitors also observed an unmanned vehicle patrolling by remote control, a technology soon to be introduced at the Israeli airport.
