Merkel again demands investors share bailout costs

German Chancellor Angela Merkel insists private creditors must share in the cost of resolving any future eurozone debt crises.
She says taxpayers must not be the only ones to put up money, as happened when governments rescued Greece from bankruptcy earlier this year.
On Tuesday she said "private investors must also make their contribution."
Last week, the EU leaders agreed on a permanent financial backstop for indebted nations, without saying who pays. Merkel said she wants banks and hedge funds holding bonds issued by shaky governments to share in the cost of bailout out debtors.
