Reporter in whistleblower case returns to Israel

An Israeli newspaper says one of its investigative journalists who published classified documents provided by a military whistleblower has returned to Israel after spending nearly a year abroad wanted by the state.
The Haaretz daily said Monday that reporter Uri Blau handed over 1,500 stolen military documents in an agreement with the state. It is not clear whether the state will press charges against Blau, who returned to Israel on Sunday.
Whistleblower Anat Kamm gave Blau hundreds of documents she copied during her military service, when she was an aide to the military commander in charge of the West Bank.
Blau cited the material in a story accusing the military of killing Palestinian militants in violation of an Israeli Supreme Court ruling.
Kamm has been charged with aggravated espionage.
