Student to be freed on bond in NYC cabbie stabbing

A college student charged with stabbing a Bangladeshi taxi driver in an anti-Muslim attack is expected to be released on $500,000 bail.
A judge Tuesday approved the combination of cash and property Michael Enright's family put up to free him. With that, the 21-year-old is headed toward release later in the day.
His next court date is Dec. 8.
Prosecutors say Enright asked driver Ahmed Sharif whether he was Muslim and then told him to "consider this a checkpoint" before slashing him in the neck. Sharif survived.
Enright has pleaded not guilty. His lawyer says the film student was beset by alcoholism and post-traumatic stress disorder from a trip to Afghanistan.
