Stocks waver to start busy week of earnings

U.S. stocks are trading in a tight range as investors prepare for a busy week of earnings that should provide clues about whether corporate profits will be held back by sluggish economic growth.
Citigroup has reported a better-than-expected profit to kick off the week. IBM and Apple both report results after the market closes.
Broad economic reports have been the main factor driving stock trading in recent months, but this week the market's focus is likely to turn to corporate earnings.
The Dow Jones industrial average is up 7, or 0.1 percent, at 11,071 in the early moments of trading Monday. The S&P 500 is up less than 1 point at 1,177, while the Nasdaq composite is up 2, or 0.1 percent, at 2,470.
