2 suspects in USVI beating death held in BVI

The U.S. Virgin Islands is seeking the extradition of two brothers suspected of fatally beating a man in St. Thomas before fleeing to the British Virgin Islands.
Curdilius and Gaius Moncherry are being held in Tortola on the charge of illegal entry. They were arrested last week after allegedly attempting to board a flight to their native St. Lucia.
U.S. Virgin Islands Justice Department spokeswoman Sara Lezama said Monday that it will soon begin proceedings to secure the extradition from the neighboring British territory.
The assailants used sticks and a baseball bat in the Sept. 5 beating of 34-year-old Kurwin Williams, who later died of his injuries.
Authorities say no motive has been established for the attack.
