Landslide kills 4 in southern Philippines

An official says a landslide triggered by heavy rains has killed four people and destroyed 20 homes in a southern Philippine village.
Mayor Peter Miguel of Koronadal city says the downpour loosened soil and boulders and uprooted trees that tumbled down onto nearby houses.
He says the landslide late Friday killed a 37-year-old woman, her two young children and an elderly neighbor. Their bodies were carried several hundred yards (meters) away by a flash flood.
Miguel says a 7-month-old child is missing and 20 houses were destroyed.
Meteorologists say converging trade winds generated rain clouds that drenched the area.
