Argentina beats Russia 73-61 at worlds

Luis Scola scored 27 points and Carlos Delfino added 26 Friday, helping Argentina pull away late for a 73-61 win over Russia in a consolation game at the world championship.
Argentina held a slim 58-56 lead with 6:11 left before Delfino and Scola combined for 13 points during a 15-5 run that sealed the win. Sergey Monya led Russia with 17 points.
Argentina's streak of making the final four in every worlds, Olympics and FIBA Americas Championship since 2001 ended with a 104-85 loss to Lithuania on Thursday in the quarterfinals. It can still finish fifth with another win.
New York Knicks signee Timofey Mozgov had 10 points and 11 rebounds for Russia, which will play for seventh place.
