Danish chess great Larsen dies

Bent Larsen, considered Denmark's greatest chess player, has died. He was 75.
The Danish Chess Union says Larsen died Thursday after a short illness. The cause of death was not given.
The union says Larsen took part in the World Chess Championship in 1965, 1968, 1971, and 1977. He played against Boris Spassky, of the former Soviet Union, and American Bobby Fischer, among others.
Larsen, a six-time Danish champion, was known for his fierce and freeflowing playing style.
The union says Larsen passed away in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he was living with his wife. Funeral arrangements were not immediately clear Friday.
