Strike grounds Zimbabwean airline for second day

Airline officials say a strike by pilots at the national Air Zimbabwe has grounded its flights for a second day.
Airline chief Peter Chikumba said Thursday that managers were continuing negotiations with some 40 pilots to resolve the dispute.
The pilots say the indebted airline has not paid out operational allowances for nearly 20 months.
The pilots earn about $2,500 a month and say they have not been able to pay living expenses, including fees for their children at private schools, because their allowances have not been paid.
The airline, embattled in the ailing economy, is already struggling to pay $4 million in regular dues owed to the International Air Transport Association (IATA), officials say.
