The Philadelphia Phillies rallied for four runs against wild closer Carlos Marmol to beat the Chicago Cubs 4-1 in the National League on Saturday.
Chicago won the first two games of the series and appeared on its way to making it three straight with a 1-0 lead. But pinch-hitters Brian Schneider and Ross Gload worked consecutive walks with one out in the ninth against Marmol.
Placido Polanco's two-out single brought in Schneider's tying run, then Marmol uncorked a ball-four wild pitch with Jimmy Rollins at the plate as Gload sprinted in with the go-ahead run. After intentionally loading the bases, Marmol walked Jayson Werth to force in the third run and was replaced, leaving to boos after issuing five walks in two-thirds of an inning.
Raul Ibanez's RBI infield single made it 4-1.
