Rossi qualifies for German Grand Prix

World champion Valentino Rossi has qualified for Sunday's German Grand Prix, less than two months after breaking his leg.
The Italian was fifth in qualifying Saturday as Yamaha teammate Jorge Lorenzo took his fourth straight pole with 1:21.817.
Casey Stoner of Australia was 0.024 back in second and Dani Pedrosa of Spain took third, 0.131 behind.
Rossi, a seven-time world champion, suffered a compound fracture of his right leg in qualifying for the Italian GP on June 5. He was operated on for 2 1/2 hours, and told at the time that he would be out of action for three to four months.
Lorenzo leads the overall standings with 165 points. Rossi is seventh with 61 points.
There are 11 races remaining.
