Argentina scrape into field hockey final vs. Dutch

Two-time defending champion Argentina scraped into the final of the Women's Champions Trophy with a last-minute goal to beat China 4-3 and shut out host England on Saturday.
Argentina will meet the Olympic and world champion Netherlands in Sunday's final. No. 2-ranked Argentina beat the top-ranked Dutch 4-2 in the round-robin on Thursday and was unbeaten against the Dutch in their last three matchups.
A draw with China would have prevented Argentina from reaching the finale and advanced England to its first final, but Noel Barrionuevo scored in her fifth successive match from a last-gasp penalty corner to rescue the Argentines and edge out England on goal difference.
England tripped up in its last round-robin match when it had to come from 2-0 down to draw with New Zealand 2-2.
Piki Hamahona and Gemma Flynn scored for New Zealand in the first 18 minutes, then Nicola White replied a minute later for England. Just before halftime England equalized from a penalty corner through Crista Cullen and neither side could score again.
The draw earned New Zealand its first Champions Trophy point since 2006, and ended a tournament record-equaling run of eight straight defeats.
The Netherlands beat Germany 1-0 to secure a ninth final berth, only one behind Australia's record.
Kim Lammers scored the only goal in the 50th minute, extending Dutch domination over Germany in the tournament to 10 years.
Argentina, knowing it had to win to advance, made the best start with a brilliant solo goal by Daniela Sruoga. But Wang Zhishuang leveled before halftime for China.
Silvina D'Elia and Rosario Luchetti then scored four minutes apart in the second half for 3-1, only for China to level again through quick successive strikes by Zhao Yudiao and captain Fu Baorong with only six minutes left, and England fans cheering for China.
But from a third straight penalty corner, Barrionuevo scored to break Chinese and English hearts.
Before the final, England and Germany will play for third, and China and New Zealand for fifth.
