Weather forecast for the Asia-Pacific region

Tropical storm Conson will strike Vietnam after killing two people when it slammed into southern China as a typhoon.
Conson continued to move northwest Saturday with thunderstorms spreading moderate to heavy showers over Indochina and southern China. The storm left a trail of destruction and dozens dead in the Philippines earlier in the week.
It was expected to hit northern Vietnam on Saturday afternoon or evening, and was moving at 12 miles (20 kilometers) an hour. Conson also left a mess in China's Hainan province, where almost 40,000 people had been evacuated.
Hong Kong will see scattered rain and thunderstorms with highs in the lower 30s Celsius on Sunday.
To the north, a low pressure system developing over central China will help pull moisture in from the South China Sea, creating a warm front stretching from Chengdu onto the Korean peninsula.
This front will kick up scattered showers and thunderstorms throughout the day. The heaviest rainfall is expected over North Korea.
Shanghai will also see stormy weather with highs in the lower 30s C. Seoul will be rainy with highs in the upper 20s C, while Beijing will see a few clouds with temperatures near 32 C.
South of this system in the Sea of Japan, mild weather will prevail because of a ridge of high pressure. Tokyo will see a few clouds with highs in the lower 30s C.
In Australia, a trough of low pressure will sweep through the Great Australian Bight. This will kick up coastal showers over South Australia and Victoria states. The north will remain sunny, warm, and dry.
Sydney will be sunny with highs near 16 C, but Melbourne will be overcast and rainy with temperatures in the mid-teens C.
