Barcelona striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic says he is returning to the Sweden squad after quitting the team last fall when it failed to qualify for the 2010 World Cup.
Ibrahimovic, who hasn't played for the national side for more than nine months, says he lost his motivation to play after the qualifying loss against Denmark in October, saying he plays "to win."
In the new set-up, the 28-year old player will also serve as the team's captain.
Ibrahimovic said Friday he had missed playing with the squad and that his decision to return came after several talks with new coach Eric Hamren.
Hamren replaced Lars Lagerback, who resigned after Sweden failed to qualify.
