Euro stays around 2-month high

The euro is trading around a two-month high against the dollar as concerns about evidence of a slowing American rebound weigh on the U.S. currency.
The euro climbed as high as $1.2937 Friday before settling back to $1.2905 in early European trading. It bought $1.2897 in New York late Thursday.
The 16-nation currency has recovered as investors fear a weakening U.S. rebound and view hopeful signals from the eurozone, where countries under scrutiny in the debt crisis have staged successful bond auctions.
News of a more pessimistic U.S. outlook from the Federal Reserve was followed Thursday by reports that manufacturing activity is slowing.
The British pound slipped to $1.5401 from $1.5413. The dollar fell to 87.21 Japanese yen from 88.46 yen.
