Tourism Bureau increases bus routes to scenic spots

Traveling in Taiwan has become easier this summer as the government is launching more tour bus routes to connect railway stations and the country's top scenic spots, tourism officials said yesterday.
Janice Seh-jen Lai, director-general of the Tourism Bureau, said 18 routes have been launched in nine counties and cities around Taiwan, with three more expected in eastern Taiwan's Hualien County in September. In a bid to attract more holiday makers to take the bus, 11 of the routes are free during the summer vacation.
The free routes include all three in Taitung County, both of the routes in Yilan County, all three in Miaoli County, and one each in Nantou County, Chiayi City and Hsinchu County.
