A volcano eruption in Guatemala has killed a reporter and left three children missing.
A spokesman for the national disaster agency says television reporter Anibal Archila was hit by a shower of rocks spewing from the Pacaya volcano that overlooks Guatemala City.
David de Leon said Friday that three children between seven and 12 years old are missing.
Pacaya started spewing lava and rocks on Thursday afternoon, covering the Guatemalan capital with ash.
The government says it is evacuating 1,600 people from near the volcano and it has shut down the city's international airport. President Alvaro Colom has decreed a "state of calamity."
