Cubs record 1-0 win over Dodgers

Ted Lilly pitched seven scoreless innings to direct the Chicago Cubs to a 1-0 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League on Thursday.
Lilly had his best start this season but still is searching for his first win in five weeks, with the win being credited to his replacement Sean Marshall (1-0).
Tyler Colvin drove in the lone run with a double in the eighth, ending the night for Dodgers starter John Ely (3-2), who was the unlucky loser.
Giants 5, Nationals 4
In San Francisco, Freddy Sanchez hit a tiebreaking, two-run single in the seventh inning to lift San Francisco over Washington.
Aubrey Huff added a solo home run for the Giants.
Santiago Casilla (1-0) pitched 2-3 of an inning to get the win in relief of starter Barry Zito.
Adam Dunn hit his 10th homer of the season for Washington but was denied No. 11 after umpires used instant replay to uphold their original ruling. Nationals starter Sean Burnett (0-2) took the loss.
Rockies 8, Diamondbacks 2
In Denver, Seth Smith, Carlos Gonzalez and Ryan Spilborghs hit consecutive home runs in the seventh inning as Colorado completed a three-game sweep of Arizona.
The game was close until the Rockies' bats exploded against Arizona starter Dan Haren (5-4) in the seventh. Ahead 4-2, Clint Barmes singled with one out and Smith, battling a cold, went long. Gonzalez followed and Spilborghs added a third on the next pitch to make it 8-2.
Gonzalez and Spilborghs finished with three hits each for the Rockies, who have won a season-high five straight. Troy Tulowitzki also homered for Colorado.
Stephen Drew had two hits and scored a run for Arizona, which has dropped four in a row.
Brewers 4, Astros 3, 10 innings
In Milwaukee, Matt Lidstom walked Rickie Weeks with the bases loaded in the 10th inning to force in Milwaukee's winning run against Houston.
Lidstrom (1-1) had converted 22 straight save opportunities dating to last season, including his first ten in 2010.
Brewers rookie John Axford (1-0), the fifth reliever used, pitched a scoreless 10th for his first victory.
