The wife of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has pleaded not guilty to driving while intoxicated in New York.
Attorney Kerry Lawrence entered the plea Thursday night for 50-year-old Mary Richardson Kennedy, who's accused of jumping a curb near a school.
Kennedy's arraignment took place in Bedford Town Court, about 45 miles (72 kilometers) north of New York City.
Kennedy's husband is a prominent environmental lawyer and son of former Sen. Robert F. Kennedy and nephew of former President John F. Kennedy. He wasn't in court.
Mary Kennedy was arrested May 15 after a police officer said he saw her run over a curb outside a school near her Bedford home. Police say she had a blood-alcohol level of 0.11 percent. The legal limit is 0.08 percent.
