Taiwanese, Israeli water technology experts meet in Taipei

Taipei, May 27 (CNA) A seminar on water resources development and conservation opened in Taipei Thursday that brought together water industry representatives and experts from Taiwan and Israel to exchange technological expertise and market information.
The seminar was organized by the Israel Economic and Cultural Office (ISECO) in Taipei and the Water Resources Agency (WRA) under Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Ophir Gore, ISECO's economic affairs director, said at the opening session that Israel and Taiwan have natural synergy and great similarities in their vital and immediate need for water resource technology.
In addition to the WRA, several other government agencies, state-owned enterprises and private corporations such as the Environmental Protection Administration, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council, Taiwan Power Co., AU Optronics and Topco, were represented at the seminar.
Israeli companies attending the seminar included Amiad Filtering System, which focuses on developing and marketing environmentally friendly filtration solutions for industrial and agricultural use, as well as automatic and manual self-cleaning filters. Five other Israeli companies participating were A.R.I., Arad, Bermad, NaanDan and Solid.
The Israeli delegation was scheduled to visit the Taiwan Water Corp. and the Taipei Water Department's headquarters Friday, as well as to meet with Taiwanese officials, according to an ISECO press release.
