F1 drivers: American driver crucial to US success

Formula One's drivers welcomed the return of racing to the United States but warned success will only come if an American driver is on the starting grid.
F1 will race the United States GP in Austin, Texas, from 2012 with teams having pushed for a return to the U.S. market since the GP was last held in Indianapolis in 2007.
Michael Schumacher says a "known and successful American driver would be very helpful" if the race is to be a success.
Sauber driver Pedro de la Rosa says the spectators will care only when they have a home grown driver to cheer.
Rubens Barrichello of Williams says F1 should never have left the U.S. because "even though fans there don't know Formula One, it's a great opportunity to show them."
